Cowper Hymn - Part 3

"His purposes will ripen fast,
unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
but sweet will be the flower."

"Blind unbelief is sure to err and scan his work in vain;
God is His own interpreter, and He will make it plain."

There you have it. If anyone knows some verses from this hymn that I didn't post, please share them with me. I can almost smell that ham cooking. Don't overindulge on the hardboiled eggs (or the chocolate ones either.) Happy Easter!

That song is Emma's song. Whenever we sing it Mama and I cannot help thinking of Emmaline and how everything the song talks about "behind a frowning providence He hides a smiling face" has been seen with Emma.

Happy Easter!!!!

Kelsie,
So very true. The picture frame you gave to us of Emmaline's before and after pictures remind us of that smiling face every day! It is neat how that song speaks to so many of us. I've read that Cowper struggled with depression. I can just see his faith growing and stretching by leaps and bounds as he found the words for this hymn. Mrs. Mc
